On this day, the 28th April, in 1923, it was the first FA Cup Final at Wembley.

It was between Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United.

It was one of the most exciting games in history as it was the first match to be played at the new Wembley Stadium (well, new at the time – now it’s been replaced with the ‘new new Wembley Stadium’)

In the first two minutes David Jack scored their first goal, followed by Jack Smith scoring the final goal in the second half.

Watched by a full stadium and the Queen’s grandfather, King George V, he handed the trophy to First Division Bolton Wanderers who won by 2 goals to 0.

On May 16th 2016, at Wembley Stadium, the world’s oldest football competition, the FA Cup Final will be held between Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

Do you have tickets and have you thought about how you and your mates will get there?

Wembley is an iconic part of English identity – much like the Routemaster. Why not turn it into a fabulous, fun day and travel there on our open-top Red Bus.

We’ve previously worked with a host of parties, to take them on our very special bus, to this important match. It really does get everyone into the match spirit. Wembley Stadium arguably is the most atmospheric stadium in the UK. The crowd really does go for it.

Players and staff, from lots of different football clubs, have also experienced the fun and atmosphere of being transported on an open-top Routemaster for trophy parades and taking staff and players to parties.
